Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city. It is a place where city style and amazing sceneries go hand in hand. Highlights include the beautiful Auckland Harbour Bridge, the amazing Sky Tower, the breathtaking Mountain Eden, the informative Auckland Museum, the remarkable Mission Bay, the fantastic native rainforests, the city’s sparkling local beaches, and more.
Today, the city’s striking natural beauty and vibrant urban lifestyle combine to make it one of the most desirable places in the world to live or to visit. In fact, Auckland is rated the third most livable city in the world in the Mercer Quality of Living Survey.
I arrived in gorgeous Auckland on a beautiful sunny day. I wanted to visit as many places as I could and enjoy a pure experience of the very best Auckland has to offer within a limited length of stay here.
There is always something happening in Auckland whatever time of year foreigners like me are visiting. Just 40 minutes from the city center is an unspoiled wilderness full of adventures.
Some people may choose to indulge in fine food and wine overlooking the harbor, explore the buzzing waterfront precincts, catch a concert, discover the arts scene, or enjoy countless water activities right on the city’s door step. These are all popular Auckland experiences.
Home to a melting pot of cultures from around the world, Auckland’s vibrant food and wine scene serves up something for every taste – from dishes created from the freshest New Zealand produce and seafood to cuisine from every corner of the globe. The nice restaurants that in the redeveloped waterfront area bring locals and visitors to enjoy a meal and drinks with fabulous harbor views. Menus range from Asian and European to seafood caught fresh from local waters.
Auckland is home to thousands of kilometers of bush and rainforest walks, including many through the Waitakere Ranges in the west and the Hunua Ranges in the east. The Waitakere Ranges are the heart of Auckland’s west coast. The Hunua Ranges is the largest native forest in the Auckland region. It was delightful to run into the hills where green leaves quiver in the cold morning sun.
According to our tour guide, the most challenging trail is Hillary Trail. It was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. He is New Zealand’s most famous mountaineer and most daring explorer.
To visit Auckland in New Zealand is to enjoy a feast of the senses. This bustling city blends cosmopolitan sophistication with a strong sense of history and tradition. My trip to Auckland allowed me to marvel at ancient monuments, explore local culinary treasures, shop for unique souvenirs, and feel free to soak in the energy of the city.
